Jakob Isak Nielsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Media and Journalism Studies, University of Aarhus. He was the Head of Department 2014-2019, and his research interests include film and media aesthetics, film and media production, media policy, film and tv history, film and tv theory, the trajectory of legacy media into the digital realm – and comedy.
Jakob is the co-editor of ‘Fjernsyn for viderekomne – de nye amerikanske tv-serier’ (2011) and ‘Streaming for viderekomne – fra Doggy Style og Black Mirror til The Jinx’ (2020). Jakob is also the founding editor of 16:9 – A Danish Online Journal of Film Studies (www.16-9.dk). He holds a Ph.D., his thesis was about Camera Movement in Narrative Cinema (2007).
