Ulven Kommer (Cry Wolf) – Premiere: Episode 4 and Talk

The Rights of a Child

Holly is a 14-year-old girl and has just written an essay for school which in detail describes her stepfather’s violent behavior. She claims that she and her brother are very affected by the violence. Holly’s school reports this, and the report ends up on social worker, Lars Madsen’s, table. In a meeting with the frightened Holly, he quickly decides that action must be taken. Within the next few hours, he places Holly and her little brother, Theo, in a foster family. Holly’s parents deny all accusations and seem to be sincerely shocked by the local authorities’ way of handling things. They respond with a lawyer and a lawsuit against the municipality. Lars now only has a few weeks to find proof of the stepfather’s violence before the decisive meeting.

But this is no easy task, and the critical questions arise: Can you always trust your children? How much pressure can a family take? And who is actually telling the whole truth?
‘Ulven Kommer’ (in English: ‘Cry Wolf’) focusses on what a family will do to survive, and how hard it can be for a social worker to protect the children and their rights to a good childhood.

The drama series, which premieres on DR Sunday October 11, has already made a name for itself on the international stage. It has received the award for best series at the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland, and was selected for the main competition at the largest European series festival Series Mania in April.
